After completing 4 years of classical music study and receiving
a degree in Vocal Music (1987, Lake Charles, Louisiana), India
Taylor went on to study 2 years of contemporary voice in order
that she could perform other styles well, including pop, jazz,
country, rock, and R&B. People who have heard her work remember
her professional quality 3-octave range as well as her warm,
friendly personality. India also plays classical and/or popular
music for guitar at weddings and other private events. Her selection
of wedding favorites is unlimited, including hits from the pop,
country, and R&B genres, plus standards. She performs publicly
in the Austin area and teaches private voice lessons to choir
students at several local public schools and to all ages in
her home.
Other achievements
in music include winning various songwriting awards and releasing
a CD called “Mosaic” in 1999, which is available
through Barnes & Noble and Borders bookstores. India also
offers a custom songwriting service which clients have raved
about; references are available.
